Manager, Facility Operations - Norcross, GA

POSITION SUMMARY:           

The Facility Operations Manager is responsible for the overall management and maintenance of DEUTZ’s portfolio of real estate which includes 10+ facilities located throughout the United States.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES:

The Manager, Strategy will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:

  • Manages and performs general maintenance and repair of all facilities, interior and exterior. Reviews operation of facilities equipment and systems on an ongoing basis for timely problem resolution and proactive identification of potential issues.
  • Manages vendor relationships. Negotiates vendor agreements, renewals and provides recommendations to management for new services or changes to existing services and/or vendors.
  • Reviews current practices and identifies opportunities for multi-state purchasing and cost containment.
  • Monitors the use and inventories supplies, equipment, and furniture and initiates reordering when needed.
  • Partners with Risk Management/Insurance Broker to ensure compliance and confirm appropriate insurance coverages are in place. Provides timely notification of key changes to brokers and vendors.
  • Partners with Manager, Environmental Health & Safety on initiatives related to security, access, workers compensation, prevention, drills, emergency/evacuation procedures and compliance.
  • Administer company-owned vehicle program for fleet of 60-80 vehicles and service trucks.
  • Partners with management on site selection for new facilities and lease renewals.

Travel Demands: Anticipated domestic and international travel is approximately 10% depending on business needs.

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

5+ years Facilities Management experience, vendor management and contract negotiation/administration

IFMA designation as Certified Facility Manager

X

 

Fleet Management experience

X

 

Working knowledge of building codes and compliance requirements

X

 

Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, construction, plumbing, masonry, pest control, and other related repair work

X

 

Excellent project management, problem solving, negotiation, and project management skills

X

 

Ability to effectively work with multiple stakeholders and interface with all levels of the organization.

COMPUTER/TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Fluency with SAP
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint

LANGUAGE ABILITY:

Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

MATHEMATICAL ABILITY:

Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Compute rate, ratio and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

Apply logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Deal with nonverbal symbolism (e.g., formulas and equations) in difficult phases. Deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
